WALT WILLEY
Walt Willey (born January 26, 1951 in Ottawa, Illinois) is an American actor. He is best known for
playing Jackson Montgomery on the soap opera All My Children, a role he originated in 1987. Currently, Walt Willey is the
tallest actor on All My Children at the height of 6'3". When not appearing on All My Children, Walt has a healthy career touring
the country as a stand-up comedy. In the early years, he would sometimes play the guitar. As a youth, Walt Willey eventually
overcame a stuttering affliction.
Walt Willey landed his first contract with AMC as Jackson in 1987 after deciding at the age of 30
to pursue his dream of a show business career. He now splits his time between New York, where the show tapes, and New Mexico,
where he and his wife own and operate a bed-and-breakfast called Crystal Mesa Farm. In addition to his frequent stand-up comedy
appearances across the country, the actor is an accomplished cartoonist whose work has appeared in Soap Opera Weekly, among
other publications. A practicing Buddhist, Willey founded the WilleyWorld Endowment Fund, which gifts children's charities
and services.
One of the songs that he's sung while performing stand-up comedy was written by himself,
and it is about the show All My Children and some of its characters.
*For all these reasons, besides his good looks, Walt is presented with the very first
Alternate Number One Award this year!
